NEW BABIES RECEIVES BABY HAMPER DONATIONS FROM BORA

 

Bora Mining Services in partnership with Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality welcomed new born babies into the new year 2022 at Maphutha L. Malatji Hospital in Namakgale on January 01, 2022.

Eight (8) new born babies were born on the 31st of December 2021 and amongst those children, there is a set of twins. Bora Mining Services donated 10 new born baby hampers.

The Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji expressed her delight with the work done by the hospital to save people’s lives and encouraged them to continue with the good work.

She thanked and appreciated Bora Mining Services for sponsoring this initiative. “We want to appreciate our strategic partners, BORA for their commitment to our relationship in serving the people of Ba-Phalaborwa. This is now an annual programme that we use to welcome our new citizens. We are thankful”, she said.

Bora Mining Services Representative, Patrick Mathebula says the company is still committed to bettering the lives of Ba-Phalaborwa through its social investment programmes.



BORA’S CEO DONATES FOOD PARCELS TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY

 

 

Bora Mining Service CEO, Enock Mathebula celebrates his birthday on 10 August. As part of his birthday celebration, he donated essential food parcels to 20 disadvantaged families around the community of Ba-Phalaborwa on August 09 as the country celebrates Women’s Day. Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji, with assistance from ward councillors were instrumental in the identification of the needy families in various wards. The families consisted of pensioners, child headed families and poverty-stricken homes. COVID-19 has exposed just how poverty stricken some families are in our community. Being able to feed the hungry families has brought joy to Mr Mathebula. “There is no better way of celebrating my birthday than this, I have dedicated my life to uplifting the community of Ba-Phalaborwa and beyond,” he said.

Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji expressed her gratitude for the continued support received from Bora. “Bora Mining Services has been supporting us from 2016 to date to better the life of Ba-Phalaborwa.” She said. The mayor surprised Mathebula with a birthday cake which he sharded with the recipients. The recipients could not contain their joy when receiving the food parcels.

Houses built by a local based company, Bora Mining Services.

 

Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality led by the Mayor,Cllr Merriam Malatji in Partnership with Bora Mining Services, Mopani District Municipality Mayor, Cllr Pule Shayi together with CoGHSTA MEC Basikopo Makamu handed over two houses to underprivileged families today, Friday, June 5.

The MEC handed over a house to the Sefale family in Lulekani before proceeding to Maseke village where he officially handed over another house to the Moyagi families.

During her welcoming remarks, Ba-Phalaborwa Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji lauded Bora Mining Services for restoring the dignity of these two destitute families. “The Moyagi family as well as Mme Sefale will have their dignity restored through this valuable contribution. For these families, this will be a stepping stone towards a better quality of life, not only for them but also for their generations to come” she said.

Meanwhile, the Executive Mayor of Mopani District Municipality,Cllr Pule Shayi has also pledged to buy furniture for these two families.

MEC Makamu has appealed to the families to take care of their houses and not “rent it out” to make money.
He also applauded Bora Mining Services for building the two houses, and said that more businesses should partner with government to reduce the housing backlog. Rosinah Sefala said that she is grateful for the house.

She told the MEC that previously she would sleep at her neighbour’s house, just so her sons can share the one-roomed house. Her eldest son who is 25 years also said that he was relieved that his mother will be able to sleep at the comfort of her home.

The event was attended by Ba-Phalaborwa Chief Whip of Council, Cllr  Didodo Rapatsa, Municipal Manager, Mme Maite Moakamela, Ward 10 Cllr Sinah Shayi, Ward 14 Cllr Mokoena, Mr Onnie Rammalo from Maphutha L Malatji, Mr Abby Ledwaba from Palabora Copper and Director for Bora Mining Services Mr Enock Mathebula.

Hospital Donation

Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji flanked by the Chief Whip Cllr Didodo Rapatsa visited Maphutha L Malatji this morning to welcome new born babies into the new year 2020. Speaking during the hand over of gifts, the Mayor said she is very pleased with the work done by the hospital to serve people’s lives. She also encouraged them to continue with the good work.

The Mayor has also sent her heartfelt gratitude to Bora Mining Services for supporting this initiative.
Furthermore, Bora Mining Services Director, Enock Mathebula, said they have set aside R130 000 in the year 2020 wherein they will partner with the Municipality for community development in Phalaborwa Communities.
